New 2017 Jeep Wrangler at Chrysler of Culpeper

The Wrangler in 2017 arrives standard with a resourceful tow hook on the back end, a convenient USB port in the cabin, double tow hooks on the front bumper, as well as new LED headlights! The 2017 Jeep Wrangler has 2 doors and fits 4 passengers, which is different than the Wrangler Unlimited, which has 4 doors and can fit 5 passengers. New for 2017 is the Cold Weather package which contains heated seats, fog-lights, a remote start, and any-weather floor mats. The 2017 Jeep Wrangler began as an Allied munitions and people runner during WWII, and continues today in the recreational department mostly seen in camping and kayaking adventures in the wilderness!

Under the Wrangler's Hood

The Wrangler has standard high- and low-range gearing, plus, it rocks a mean four-wheel drive. On the 2017 Wrangler, an optional 5-speed automatic with Hill-start Assist and Hill-Descent control appears, and there is the 6-speed manual transmission with Hill-start Assist as standard. The hard-hitting engine inside is a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with 285 horsepower with 260 lb-ft of torque, and it supplies all 2017 Wranglers with all the 'Ooomph' needed. The 2017 Jeep Wrangler can be further slated for certain ratios (3.21, 3.73 or 4.10) and more, depending on the model. In Edmunds testing, a manual transmission Wrangler drove from 0 - 60 miles per hour in 6.9 seconds! The 2017 Rubicon utilizes an experienced transfer case with a low crawl ratio and short gearing to get it through the tough stuff.

Design of Jeep Wrangler

All Wranglers have the capability to be chosen with either a soft top or a hardtop (body-color or black for hardtops). The 2017 Jeep Wrangler can be driven in a choice of two body types: the Wrangler Unlimited or the 2-door Wrangler, which we are going over currently. The Wrangler in 2017 appears with four main trims- the Sport S, Sport, Sahara, and the Rubicon. There are a few offshoot branches also optional that are built from those models. The Sport model has a collapsible, tumble-forward seat in the back, hand-operated mirrors and locks, a tilt-only steering wheel, full metal doors with crank windows, 16-inch steel wheels, a fold-down windshield, foglights, removable doors, tow hooks, skid plates, on/off-road tires, a spare tire that's full-size, cruise control, a height-adjustable driver seat, and an audio system with eight-speakers (plus a CD player/aux port). The Sahara trim has 18-inch alloy wheels, hood insulation for reduced noise, automatic LED headlights, AC, extra painted body panels/trim, the Power Convenience Group items, LED foglights, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and nearly all features that the Sport model has. The Rubicon trim involves many of these items, then adds an electronically disconnecting front sway bar, rock-rails, 17-inch alloy wheels, custom tires, a heavy-duty Dana 44 axle on both axles, and more. Interior-wise, you will see AC, satellite radio, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and a single 115-volt outlet. The Unlimited version installs a passenger-friendly 60/40-split folding seat that tumbles forward and carries a gas tank that is larger.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety stated that a 2017 Wrangler, in the moderate-overlap front-impact test, scored its highest rating of 'Good'.
