2017 RAM 3500 at Chrysler of Culpeper

The 2017 RAM 3500 offers choice and utility as a heavy-duty pickup. With three cab options, two available truck beds, and six trim levels, the 3500 can be equipped for your specific needs. There are also three engines available to help further optimize the experience. The previously optional 6.4-liter HEMI engine becomes standard on several trim levels this model year.

Under the 3500's Hood

The RAM 3500 is powered by one of three available energy sources. The starting option is standard on most trim levels and is capable of generating 383 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. This is the 5.7-liter V8 gasoline engine. At higher trim levels, the 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine becomes standard. This engine is rated for 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque. While this option has been available on the RAM 3500 previously, its standard availability is new to the 2017 model year. The last option is the 6.7-liter Cummins High-Output Turbo-Diesel engine which is capable of 370 horsepower and up to 800 pound-feet of torque. The standard transmission is a six-speed automatic, but upgrade to the heavy-duty, six-speed automatic and the torque jumps up to 900 pound-feet. Hands down though, the most impressive aspects of the RAM 3500 are its 31,210-pound towing capacity and its 7,390-pound payload.

Design of RAM 3500

The RAM 3500 comes in six trim levels to offer a whole spectrum of standard equipment. The starting option is the Tradesman which comes with a six-speaker stereo, 17-inch steel wheels, black grille and bumpers, automatic headlights, vinyl upholstery, a 40/20/40-split front bench, and a locking tailgate all come standard. The next trim level is the SLT model which brings in a power sliding rear window, cloth upholstery, full power accessories, an overhead console, a 5-inch touchscreen interface, and keyless entry. The Big Horn trim brings in foglights, chrome grille slats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and remote ignition. Up next is the Laramie that starts off with the 6.4-liter V8 engine as standard. It also offers upgraded equipment in the form of LED taillights, a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, dual-zone automatic climate control, a six-way power front passenger seat, driver-seat memory settings, 10-speaker surround-sound, and a heated steering wheel. The Laramie Longhorn trim level adds to its predecessor with remote ignition, wood interior and steering wheel trim, upgraded leather upholstery, a navigation system, running boards, and power adjustable pedals. The top of the line trim level is the Limited which brings in additional flairs of style in the form of color-keyed bumpers, monotone paint, chrome exterior trim, and special black leather upholstery. It also comes with the RamBox cargo management system, 20-inch wheels, and automatic wipers and high-beams. The RAM 3500 can come in three different cab configurations and with one of two truck bed lengths. The Ram 3500 can either come with the two-door regular cab or one of the two four-door cabs, the Crew cab or the Mega cab.
