In addition to the 2019 Ram 1500, seven other trucks were brought to California to compete for the title of Truck Trend's Pickup Truck of the Year. Spanning 1,300 miles, these eight trucks were put through grueling and demanding tests to showcase what they've got to offer. Throughout the tests, judges were paying close attention to hauling, towing and off-roading capabilities, overall performance, and fuel economy calculation. They also paid attention to categories like seat comfort, usability, build quality, technology, and interior ergonomics. These categories are where truck owners expect them to deliver, meeting the needs of their lifestyles. The judges made sure to spend quality time with each truck so they could share the most informed opinions with their readers.

The 2019 Ram 1500 is one outstanding truck, offering features that meet every lifestyle need and want. Entering the 2019 model year, the Ram 1500 has been totally redesigned making it more powerful, efficient, and capable than any 1500 that came before it! The powertrain lineup consists of two outstanding engines that work with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Both engines work with a brand-new eTorque mild-hybrid system for extra torque when needed. It even helps reduce the truck's greenhouse gas emissions. Even though the 1500 has lost a total of 225 pounds, the truck can haul and tow more than ever before maxing out at 2,300 payload pounds and 12,750 towing pounds. The cabin offers the class-exclusive 12-inch touchscreen that can run two apps at the same time. You can see what song is playing and keep up with the directions with navigation. Speaking of music, all your infotainment needs will be met with the Uconnect infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The 1500 also comes loaded with safety features that will keep you safe from the job site to the countryside including a rearview camera, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot monitoring.
