2020 Charger SRT Lineup to Expand Culpeper VA

The modern day mass-produced sedan offers a fuel efficient reliable car that comfortably transports friends and family wherever the destination takes you. Dodge has brought their flare with their ferocious engines and sturdy rigs to push the 4-door sedan to its limits with the Charger. The 2019 Charger topped the charts in performance toting incredible acceleration speeds and handling prowess equipped with the 6.2-liter Hemi Hellcat V8 engine that demands respect on the roadway producing a massive 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. Even with an unrivaled performance, Dodge looks to further enhance the Charger coming into the next generation of vehicles using ingenuitive and cutting-edge applications of technology and engineering to push the limit even further. Excitingly, Dodge has announced the expansion of the 2020 Charger SRT Hellcat and Scat Pack lineup with a brand new widebody configuration. This new wider frame will give the Charger the foundation it needs to upgrade its performance to the next level.

What is different with the new widebody Charger?

With the 2020 Charger, picking up the SRT package will bring on the new widebody configuration while being also offered optional with the Charger Scat Pack. This new body will keep the same classic Charger body design, but with an addition, 3.5 inches of extra width added to the overall frame. This extra space added in opens up numerous possibilities within the Charger to further tune and upgrade the sedan’s overall performance. Starting with the tires, we significantly see an increase in width establishing more traction with the road utilizing the Charger’s new Pirelli 305/35ZR20 performance tires. Further enhancing performance, the brakes receive an upgrade as well equipping enhanced Brembo six-piston front calipers paired with two-piece front brake rotors working in conjunction with the larger wheels to offer better stopping power. We see Dodge bring in a tuned Bilstein suspension that uses three-mode adaptive damping to re-establish traction on uneven surfaces quickly and rapidly adjust torque at explosive acceleration periods and high speeds. The extra width works well for the Charger, boasting a new 0-60 mph acceleration time within 3.6 seconds.

What sort of technology is added in to enhance performance?

With the upgraded output of the 2020 Charger coming from the core upgrades, we also see a multitude of enhanced features and technology integrated into the sedan further enhancing the driving experience across the board. With the SRT Hellcat, we will see a newly developed electric power steering specifically for the Charger that offers increased turning response and handling while operating at any speed. Utilizing the already standard touchscreen display, you will be able to tune the electric power steering altering outputs such as horsepower, transmission shifting rates, steering feedback, paddle shifters and other functions tapering each driving experience directly to the task at hand. We also see a solid spread of other performance-enhancing upgrades such as the Race Cooldown tech that uses a supercharger air cooler to maintain optimal engine temperature even after the engine shuts down. The advanced launch control with the Launch Assist system found integrated into the dashboard activates immediately when you push hard on the gas pedal, reducing tire slipping with torque shifting to give streamlined straight-line acceleration.

Dodge is rewriting the books on what is capable in a motor vehicle by pushing out immense power and performance on the roadway with their SRT Hellcat lineup. With the 2020 Charger, we see the concise increase in width opening the door for elevating the output to even greater heights. The wider wheels and integrated technology better wield the immense power produced by Dodge’s monstrous engines transforming it into raw acceleration on the road.
