In the 2025 model year, there are a total of four powertrain options, with one exclusive to an all-new Ram 1500 model. Standard equipment continues to be the Pentastar 3.6L V6 engine. Delivering 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque, the Pentastar engine affords the 2025 Ram 1500 an 8,100-pound maximum towing capacity. The first new engine option for 2025 is the all-new Hurricane 6. This engine is a twin-turbocharged three-liter straight-six engine. While running more efficiently than the 5.7L HEMI, it offers more power to the tune of 420 horsepower and 469 lb-ft of torque, pulling up to 11,560 pounds. Meanwhile, this same engine is tuned to create a high-output variant, pumping out a hefty 540 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque. All Ram 1500 engine options come linked to a TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission powering a rear-wheel or four-wheel-drive platform. The Ram 1500 Ramcharger is the brand's first-ever plug-in hybrid electric vehicle, seamlessly meshing the power of Ram's Pentastar engine with the efficiency of an electric vehicle powertrain. The 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger consists of the 3.6L V6 engine with an on-board generator, one electric motor on each axle, and a rechargeable 92-kWh battery pack. The process of powering the Ramcharger's wheels is different than most PHEVs, as there is no mechanical linkage between the V6 engine and the wheels. Instead, the mechanical power from the engine is set through the onboard generator to the battery and to the wheels, providing the Ramcharger with 663 horsepower and 615 lb-ft of torque. This affords the new truck with an impressive 14,000-pound towing capacity. Furthermore, the Ramcharger rips from 0-60 in just 4.4 seconds! Even more impressive, however, is the Ramcharger's 690-mile driving range.
